Since 2010, UofL Criminal Justice, UofL Computer Engineering and Perm State University of Perm, Russia (PGU) have enriched the studies of students through collaboration and technology tools like Skype and YouTube. These let the students interact in real time through presentations and discussions of criminal justice topics. Faculty and students from Perm State University, coordinated by Professor Svetlana Polyakova, have traveled to University of Louisville as guests of the Departments of Criminal Justice and Computer Engineering and the UofL Law School. In turn, U of L students have studied in Perm under the auspices of PGU.
In 2016 the universities co-sponsored the first International Symposium on Security of the Individual, State and Society (SISS) with papers from Russia, the USA, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, the Republic of Korea and Spain.
