Teacher Education Test Score Requirement

The Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board (EPSB) has set minimum admission requirements for all initial teacher certification candidates. The minimum required scores are listed below. Test scores cannot be used if they are more than five years old (by the beginning of the semester for which the applicant intends to enroll in the MAT program). If you take the Praxis outside the state of Kentucky, you must have your official scores sent to the University of Louisville, code 1838 and to the Kentucky Department of Education, code R7283(A).

Graduate Record Exam (GRE):

Verbal – 150, Quantitative – 143, Analytical Writing – 4.0

OR

Effective September 1, 2014:
PRAXIS Core Academic Skills for Educators (CASE):
Reading – 156, Mathematics – 150, Writing – 162

OR

If applicant has taken the test below prior to September 1, 2014, passing test scores may still be accepted if no more than five years old.

PRAXIS I Pre-Professional Skills Test (PPST)
Reading-176, Math-174, Writing-174
