Applicants to the Professional Phase of the Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education – which leads to Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education certification only - are required to complete specific prerequisite courses for admission. In addition, applicants must have completed (or will complete prior to admission to the professional program) the Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from a Kentucky state institution.
Specific course requirements include:
EDTP 201, The Teaching Profession
EDTP 107, Human Development and Learning
Two Natural Science courses (one in Biology preferred)
One Natural Science lab
One World History course
Students must earn a minimum 3.0 average in EDTP 201 and 107 combined.
