JSFA Transfers to CEE
Dr. Jake Gross, director of CEE and editor of the Journal of Student Financial Aid (JSFA), is proud to announce that the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) has transfered JSFA to the UofL College of Education and Human Development's Center for Economic Education. Dr. Casey George, assistant director of CEE, presented, "Differential Tuition Policies and their Implications for Affordability and Transparency" at the CEE Speaker Series in April 2018.
Bergman Awarded CCA Grant
Dr. Matt Bergman, assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Evaluation, and Organizational Development, was awarded a $20,000 grant from Complete College America (CCA) to serve as an expert consultant to their adult degree completion initiatives. There are 36 million adults in the United States who previously attended college but never graduated. Dr. Bergman is part of a national effort to help these adults finish what they started. By supporting the implementation of more adult-friendly practices, such as flexible course schedules or credit for prior learning, at institutions of higher education, Dr. Bergman is helping to change the postsecondary landscape and promote educational attainment and economic development. Dr. Bergman’s work is affiliated with the Center for Economic Education in furtherance of our mission to help address economic and educational inequity through human capital development and economic empowerment.
