The 2018 winner of the Hadley Prize for Visual Art is KCJ Szwedzinski, a graduate student at UofL’s Hite Art Institute who works in mixed media and glass.

The Bunbury Theatre’s 2018 offering, “Master Harold and the Boys,” is helmed by UofL professor and head of graduate acting program Baron Kelly, with lighting and set design from UofL’s resident scenic, lighting and projection designer and department chair Kevin Gawley. The three-person cast features two recent graduates from the program, Tyler Madden and Cameron Murphy.

"The Year of Savannah" - UofL's Debate Team coordinator reflects on their successful year and the team member they lost
Tiffany Dillard-Knox, Coordinator of UofL's Malcolm X Debate Team, was named Scholar of the Year by the Cross Examination Debate Association Southeast Region. The team had a very successful year, dubbing it "The Year of Savannah." The team dedicated their hard work and winning season to the late debate team member Savannah Walker, who was tragically killed in March 2017 when struck by a stray bullet at a concert.

Belknap Academic Classroom Building on pace for fall opening
The building sits along South Brook Street, between the Shumaker Research Building and Lutz Hall in the heart of campus. Though it is built using materials that are consistent with the rest of the buildings on campus, the BACB will be unlike anything that’s ever existed at UofL before.
Physics & Astronomy student wins award for summer research
Undergrad Brianna Mills (Physics & Astronomy) was one of five winners of the Chambliss Student Poster award at the 2018 American Astronomical Society meeting. There were over 100 undergraduate entrants in the competition. Ms. Mills is the first from UofL to win the Chambliss.
