CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MINUTES

April 9, 2003

The minutes of the meeting of March 12 were approved as distributed.

At the request of the department, GEOG 347, GEOG 547, and GEOG 549 were removed from the agenda for revision.

The proposal for a B.S. in Communication was approved as submitted. Admission to the major in the B.S. will require a 2.5 overall gpa and completion of a 200-level course in Communication with a grade of C or better.

Discussion of the proposal for a Social Sciences concentration in the B.A. in Philosophy focused on the requirements in the social sciences. The department will consider revisions based on the committee.s concerns and re-submit the proposal.

The proposal for a B.S. in Women.s and Gender Studies was returned to the department for further consideration. A title change for WMST 532 was not approved, as the committee thought the present title more clearly reflected the content of the course.

Changes to the M.A. requirements for Clinical Psychology doctoral students were approved, and will be forwarded to the Graduate School. The change expanded the time period in which students must meet the M.A. requirements.
