Members present:  N. Ansari (A&S Student Council), R. Carini, J. Li, S. Rabin, R. Roebuck (Chair), R. Taylor, C. Tillquist, M. Rohmann, W. Yoder 

Guests:  D. Keeling (JA), W. Partin (Transfer Admissions)

The minutes of the meetings of April 5 and August 14, 2012, were approved as distributed.

Naseem Ansari was welcomed to the committee as the representative of the A&S Student Council.

The following course actions were approved, effective Summer 2013:

JA 485:  Senior Seminar in Justice Administration—CUE designation

TA 322:  Directing the Black Experience—prerequisite change approved, contingent upon discussion with the department regarding course numbering

PSYC 366:  Multicultural Psychology—number change to PSYC 440; prerequisite change

PSYC 432:  Vision and Art—upper-level WR designation removed

PHIL 504:  Philosophy of History—deleted

HIST 504:  Philosophy of History—cross-list with PHIL 504 removed; upper-level WR designation added.    Consideration for CUE designation deferred for additional information.

WGST 325/ENGL 373:  Women in Literature—prerequisite change

WGST 326/ENGL 374:  Gender and Children’s Literature—prerequisite change

WGST 375/ENGL 375:  LGBTQ Literature—prerequisite change

WGST 401:  Community Internship—prerequisite change

WGST 520/ENGL 554:  Women’s Personal Narratives—prerequisite change

WGST 600:  Research and Writing in WGST—new course

WGST 603:  History of U.S. Feminisms—new course

The committee discussed effective dates for CLEP exams with Mr. Partin, and deferred a decision for additional information.
