The minutes of the meeting of September 14 were approved as distributed. (Minutes are posted on the A&S web site following their approval by the committee.)
Changes were approved to the MPA degree: PADM 602/PLAN 604 was substituted for PADM 500 in the core requirements and PADM 624 was added, resulting in a change from 12 to 15 hours in the core. The area of specialization in the degree was reduced from 15 to 12 hours, so that there is no overall change to the hours required in the degree.
The following course actions were approved, effective Summer 2012.
- PSYC 400: Honors Research—grading option changed from P/F to letter grade.
- JA 613: title/description change
- JA 614: new course
- JA 641: title/description/number change (to JA 645)
- JA 798: new course
- JA 799: new course
Action was deferred on JA 749 and 750, pending additional information.
A proposal from the Office of Admissions to discontinue requiring ACT/SAT scores for international applicants was approved.
A proposal from the Office of Admissions to add the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam as an option for proof of English proficiency was approved.
A proposal from the Office of Admissions on the policy regarding credit for prior learning was deferred for additional consideration.
