A&S; Curriculum Committee Minutes, 02/26/03

Members Present: G. Barnes, A. Kolers, J. McLeod, M. Roebuck, M. Rohmann, E. Segal (Chair), R. Taylor, W-B. Zeng

Members Absent: E. Glass (A&S; Student Council)

Guests: S. Deskins (A&S; Student Council); J. Dietrich, I. Levi

Mr. Deskins met with the committee to discuss student concerns with plus/minus grading. He stated that the A&S; Student Council would like to see the repeal of the plus/minus system. If the system were retained, students wished to see uniformity in its use, especially in multi-section courses. The committee discussed these issues for some time. Mr. Deskins was asked to submit a formal written statement of the A&S; Council request.

The remainder of the meeting was devoted to a discussion of delivery of general education courses with Associates Deans Dietrich and Levi.
