Seven to nine hours in designated chemistry and/or biology electives were added, to be selected from Chemistry 450, 515, 528, 529, 557 and Biology 357 or 485, 358, 400, 465, and 516, with a minimum of 4 hours in Chemistry courses.

Course actions:

CHEM 684: Biophysical Chemistry (new course)
CHEM 685: Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Structure (new course)
CHEM 686: Magnetic Resonance (delete)
CHEM 532/632: Chemistry Education for Secondary Teachers (new course; approval contingent upon receipt of a separate syllabus for 632)
ART 101: Fundamentals of Drawing and Design (new course) (for non-majors)

Action was deferred on PAS 642/ARTH 642 until a syllabus which defines evaluation methods is received.

The remainder of the meeting was devoted to a discussion of ramifications of plus/minus grading for designation of dean's scholars/dean's list. The effect of plus/minus (specifically C-) on academic actions (probation/suspension) was also discussed.
