Call for Nominations – 2025 Awards for 2024 Performance

Please take the time to nominate your faculty and staff colleagues for an A&S award. Awards will be given at the College’s Celebration of A&S Excellence in the Spring. The winners of the A&S Distinguished Faculty Awards will be forwarded as the College’s nominations for the University-wide awards of the same name. The winner and up to three finalists of the GTA Excellence in Teaching Award will be forwarded to the Graduate School as the College’s nominations for the University-wide awards of the same name

Process
  • Longlist nominations for Distinguished Faculty Awards (DFA) require only a CV and a brief rationale, not a chair’s letter.
  • Nominations for other, non-DFA faculty and staff awards require only a brief rationale.
  • Committees will create short lists from those materials and follow up with nominators to obtain additional materials, e.g., a letter from the chair, which are needed for the university-wide awards.
Timeline
  • 4 weeks for Distinguished Faculty Award (DFA) longlist nominations: November 14 – December 12, 2024.
  • 2 weeks for DFA judges to determine shortlists nominees and request further information on them: January 10-23, 2025.
  • 3 weeks for DFA judges to convene and choose winners: January 24 – February 13, 2025 (deadline for forwarding DFA winners to university-wide awards is February 15).
  • Non-DFA Awards have no longlist/shortlist process, therefore those nominations are due by January 23, 2025 (a 10-week nomination period).
