Interim Dean David Owen is committed to making the College of Arts & Sciences an inclusive and equitable work environment, where the Cardinal Principle of Respect is valued and put into action. Constructive criticism is both wanted and valued, and you are encouraged to contact Dean Owen, Chief of Staff Julie Wrinn, or Human Resources Business Manager Sr. MaryPat Chiavaroli by phone or email on any matter.

If you have feedback and would prefer not to identify yourself, you may use the Dean’s Office’s subscription to Incogneato, a service that forwards comments anonymously. A committee of four individuals reads that feedback: David Owen, Julie Wrinn, MaryPat Chiavaroli, and one rotating associate dean.

Within Incogneato, there is an option for receiving a direct response, and it looks like this:

Your email (optional – if you want a reply)

If you select this option, your email address is still hidden, but you can receive a direct reply from our committee.

Comments that do not request a reply will be considered as general feedback to help the leadership team understand the temperature in the college. If comments include incorrect information that can be easily corrected or clarified, Dean Owen will address it in remarks to either the A&S Staff Association or the Faculty Assembly. Anonymous feedback will never be shared verbatim in any forum.

Note that UofL has an Ombuds Office that serves as an independent, confidential, informal, neutral and safe place to voice concerns without fear of retribution. For more information on the Ombuds Office, please visit:
