This symposium will clarify the effects of poverty on children's well-being while increasing awareness among health care providers of the need to address poverty and other adverse experiences in pediatric patients. Screening tools for social determinants of health and resources available to families also will be highlighted. Continuing education credits will be provided.
Learning Objectives:
1. Discuss the disparities poverty creates in pediatric mental health care.
2. Learn the importance of screening for social determinants in clinical practice.
3. Identify local and national resources available for families in poverty.
