Dr. Brit Anderson joined the University of Louisville pediatrics faculty in 2014. She was the Associate Division Chief of Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2020 - 2023 and began serving as the Vice Chair for Advocacy for the Department of Pediatrics in January 2023.Dr. Anderson spends her clinical time in the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Her additional roles and accomplishments include:

• Advocacy Director, University of Louisville Pediatrics Residency Program
• Co-Director, Porters Scholars in Medicine program at the University of Louisville
• Site Co-PI, Injury Free Coalition for Kids
• Secretary/Treasurer, Kentucky Chapter of AAP
• Member, Community Pediatrics Training Initiative (CPTI) Leadership/ Career Development and Curriculum Development Committees
• Received the Thomas H Pinkstaff Child Advocacy Award (2018-22)
• Received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award

Dr. Anderson grew up in the Kansas City area and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Northwestern University’s Lurie Children’s Hospital and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. 

Dr. Anderson's husband is also a pediatrician, and they have two wonderful daughters.
