Dr. Emily Volk is an associate professor of pathology with a subspecialty focus in cytopathology and gastrointestinal pathology.  She also has broad experience in laboratory and healthcare administration, as well as public healthcare policy development.

Dr. Volk received her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts. She completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and completed a fellowship in Cytopathology at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Dr. Volk has been active in the College of American Pathologists, serving on the Board of Governors since 2013, where she led efforts to develop the Pathologists Quality Registry. She serves as President of the CAP through October 2024.
