Living in Louisville

Louisville is the largest city in Kentucky with a population of approximately one million in the Metro, making us the 29th most populous city in the U.S.

The city is best known for the Kentucky Derby, the oldest continuous sporting event in the U.S. and known as the "most exciting two minutes in sports" but Churchill Downs has racing events throughout the year.

Louisville has over 100 parks spanning more than 14,000 acres, including the Louisville Waterfront Park on the banks of the Ohio River, many parks designed by Frederick Olmsted, including Cherokee Park in the middle of the Highlands, and The Jefferson Memorial Forest and is designated as a National Audubon Society wildlife refuge to name a few.

Louisville comes alive at night with all sorts of entertainment opportunities. The city is full of theaters, blues clubs, and dance clubs. Many nationally-recognized concert entertainers visit the city, making the city an exciting place for entertainment. The city boasts Fourth Street Live - a downtown dining, shopping and nightlife with restaurants, bars and retail stores for a fun place to be.
