Biography

I grew up with medicine in the household as my father is an interventionalist and my mother a retired CVICU nurse; it was never an expectation, however, to go into medicine. Nevertheless, an interest in cardiology began at a young age and continued to grow through work as a phlebotomist and as an ER tech - the latter of which offered me an early start to learning EKG interpretation. My interests and enjoyment of the procedural aspect of medicine had me enjoying general, cardiothoracic, and trauma surgery rotations. However, it was the longitudinal care plans and ability to quickly make interventions that drew me to pursue interventional cardiology.

In His Words

While I grew up in Lexington, KY, and attended undergrad there too, moving here for residency and fellowship has been great given all of the sights and sounds unique to Louisville. The food scene is arguably the best in the area outside of Chicago or Nashville and there are always concerts, street fairs, or sporting events (especially Louisville City FC) to explore. The cost of living in the Commonwealth also makes creating a home here easy. Louisville allows for a great work-life balance.
