Lung Cancer Screening in Kentucky: How to Save 712 Kentuckians This Year - March 8, 2017

Kentucky leads the nation in lung cancer incidence and mortality rates, which are closely tied to the state’s high adult smoking prevalence. Fortunately, recent years have seen the development of new a guideline and insurance coverage for lung cancer screening, advances in lung cancer treatment, and growing survivorship resources. Given Kentucky’s heavy lung cancer burden, concerted efforts are warranted to ensure that these improvements in care reach all Kentuckians. Primary care providers can play an important role in this effort. “Lung Cancer Screening in Kentucky: How to Save 712 Kentuckians This Year” educates primary care providers in Kentucky on ways to improve lung cancer care across the continuum.
