Center welcomes Vaughn as civic education coordinator

(Aug. 12, 2013) LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A familiar face will work with Kentucky primary and secondary educators and students for the upcoming year as the McConnell Center's civic education coordinator.
Center welcomes Vaughn as civic education coordinator

Trisha Maclin Vaughn, a former McConnell Scholar ('11), will coordinate the McConnell Center's civic education initiatives for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Vaughn served as a civics education graduate assistant during 2012-2013 while earning earning her master's of arts degree in English. She has now transitioned into civics education coordinator in a full-time capacity.

"Trisha is passionate about the mission of our civic education programming and brings a strong organizational and planning background to this position," said Gary Gregg, McConnell Center director. "We're very excited to have her on our team."

Vaughn, a former Derby Queen, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of art's degree in English and political science. She is married to Derek Vaughn, a fourth-year medical student at UofL. They enjoy spending time with their miniature schnauzer, Leo.
