Center welcomes McConnell Scholar Class of 2028

Louisville, Ky. (August 23, 2024)—The McConnell Center welcomes nine new students to the McConnell Scholars Program, one of the state's most prestigious undergraduate scholarship programs.
This year's freshmen class marks the 33rd in the McConnell Center's history and is part of the University of Louisville's Class of 2028.
The new McConnell Scholars are:
• Ozy Anyanwu (Madison Central High, Richmond)
• Caroline Bergin (duPont Manual High, Louisville)
• Grace Fields (Frankfort Christian Academy, Frankfort)
• Clara Heberling (Notre Dame Academy, Fort Wright)
• Keely O'Bryan (Fort Knox High, Fort Knox)
• Connor Price (Great Crossings High, Georgetown)
• Harper Hall (Atherton High, Louisville)
• Leo Tobbe (duPont Manual High, Louisville)
• Trey Stephens (Adair Co. High, Columbia)
"We are excited to work with these outstanding young Scholars," said McConnell Center Director Dr. Gary Gregg. "They are already proving to be talented, engaged, and dedicated students and leaders."
Since 1991, the McConnell Center has awarded $5.6 million in scholarships and awards to over 250 McConnell Scholars. The Center has also provided professional military education to hundreds of U.S. Army leaders and conducted civic education programs for countless K-12 teachers and students across Kentucky. The Center's Distinguished Speaker Series, publications, conferences, and podcasts have garnered international attention, earning "an oasis of excellence" in higher education designation from the American Council of Trustees and Alumni.
