Scholar receives English-Speaking Union scholarship
"I've always been an anglophile and am excited to study at a premier university in the world," said Christopher, a history and political science double major.
But the United Kingdom is not the only place Christopher is traveling to this summer.
Following spring finals in early May, Christopher joins 9 other McConnell Scholars for a month-long study abroad program to the People's Republic of China. The group will study Chinese politics, culture and government under the tutelage of Dr. Shiping Hua, a political science professor at the University of Louisville.
The group lands stateside June 20, and Christopher has just enough time to re-pack his bags before heading to London July 3.
"I knew this was my last chance to do some extended study abroad," said Christopher, who will graduate next spring.
This marks the second McConnell Scholar to receive the English-Speaking Union scholarship. Robert Works (Class of 2010) also received the award.
