McConnell Scholars (’15) headed to People’s Republic of China to study, travel
Following a semester of preparations, including seminars on Chinese culture, the McConnell Scholar Class of 2015 is headed to the People’s Republic of China for a four-week study abroad.
The study abroad, guaranteed to every McConnell Scholar the summer following his or her junior year, will include studies and travels in Shanghi, Beijing and Xi’an.
The scholars are led by Dr. Shiping Hua, a political science professor at the University of Louisville and chair of the University’s Asian Studies Department. Hua has been leading the McConnell Scholars in China since 2006.
A few scholars have made plans to continue traveling after the study abroad ends on June 4th, including Arsh Haque who plans to travel to India.
