McConnell Scholar published on Library of Congress website
This summer, McConnell Scholar Robert Gassman earned a Junior Fellowship to the Library of Congress, where he served as an intern for ten weeks in Washington, DC.
As an intern, he engaged in research on the First World War designed to benefit social studies teachers across the United States. His research was compiled in a blog post on a website widely visited by teachers.
"Working for the Library of Congress gave me the incredible opportunity to share what I had learned through their blog for educators," said Gassman.
Gassman, a junior from Louisville, is majoring in political science, history and Asian studies. In addition to his internship, he is active on the McConnell Center's moot court team and serves as the Vice Chair of the McConnell Scholars council.
This summer, Gassman and other McConnell Scholars from the class of 2018 will study abroad in the People's Republic of China.
