Jewell ('17) presents 100 pocket-size US constitutions to Central High School
Today, McConnell Scholar Jason Jewell (’17) presented 100 pocket-size U.S. Constitutions to his alma mater, Louisville’s Central High School. The presentation was part of a larger ceremony unveiling the school’s new student courtroom.
“My high school’s law and government magnet has had a lot to do with the opportunities that have gotten me to the McConnell Scholars Program, and I have been heavily involved in Central’s law and government programs since graduation,” Jewell said.
The constitutions were donated by the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville.
"We are glad to help our students continue to serve our community, and it's particularly gratifying to help a new generation of young people come to an appreciation of the American constitutional order," said Gary Gregg, director of the McConnell Center.
Jewell, a Louisville native and freshman at the University of Louisville, is studying political science and economics.
