Humphrey, Lalata attend Clinton Global Initiative University
Six students from the University of Louisville, including two McConnell Scholars, are attending the eighth annual Clinton Global Initiative University, which takes place March 6 to 8 at the University of Miami.
Sophomore McConnell Scholar Diana Lalata submitted a project proposal for an annual collegiate youth rights conference on a variety of social justice topics.
More than 1,000 student leaders from around the world are expected to be at the conference, along with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton.
Students will join civically-engaged leaders and discuss five focus areas: education, environment and climate change, peace and human rights, poverty alleviation and public health.
More than $900,000 in funding opportunities will be available to select CGI U students to help turn their ideas into action.
