Five McConnell Scholars advocate for higher education
Members of the inaugural class of 'Cards in Action'
Five McConnell Scholars were selected to participate in Cards in Action, a student-led initiative at the University of Louisville that advocates for higher education rights and funding.
The group of 20 students traveled to the state capital last week and met with key government officials, including Kentucky Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson, Attorney General Jack Conway and Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.
"It's important to speak for the beliefs of students and ensure that our legislators in Frankfort know the obstacles facing a higher education," said McConnell Scholar Kevin Grout ('16). "I hope that we made an impact not only on the legislators but on the future of the Commonwealth's higher education."
McConnell Scholars invited to Cards in Action include:
