Ball, Lalata to spend summer orienting new UofL students
Freshmen McConnell Scholars Jeremy Ball and Diana Lalata were selected as UofL Student Orientation Staffers (SOSers) for Summer 2014. UofL’s orientation for new students, which takes place on UofL’s Belknap campus during the summer, is an opportunity for incoming undergraduate freshman to familiarize themselves with campus and the university before fall classes.
As SOSers, Ball and Lalata will help ensure a smooth transition to college life, offering campus tours and guiding incoming freshman through the class registration process. They will work 10 two-day orientation sessions during May and June.
Ball and Lalata are two of only 30 students selected as SOSers following a competitive interview process.
Ball, a freshman from Manchester, Ky., is studying political science and American Sign Language at UofL. In addition to the McConnell Scholars Program, he is a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, a member of the Student Government Executive Staff and a National Coca-Cola Scholar.
