UofL Brandeis Law School to host reunion of night school alumni on Sept. 27
The Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville will hold a reunion on Wednesday, Sept. 27, of alumni who attended the school’s former night program. The event will be held at The Marcus Lindsey, 801 E. Main St. in Louisville from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
The reunion will feature a presentation on the law school’s progress by Brandeis Law Dean Melanie B. Jacobs. Bill Samuels Jr., chairman emeritus of Maker’s Mark, will share stories of two subjects he knows well – the law and bourbon.
The event is the first reunion for Brandeis Law alums who attended the school’s night program, conducted 1950-2007. “Our night school alumni have had exceptional, distinguished careers and we are proud of their achievements. Many had established, successful degrees when they entered Brandeis and earned their law degree to enhance an already thriving career. Others were already supporting a family and attended night school to begin a new profession,” Jacobs said.
“Brandeis is proud to call them all alumni, and we want to give them an opportunity to rekindle their bonds with their classmates and Brandeis Law.”
The setting was chosen to help revitalize those bonds. The Marcus Lindsey is an inviting re-purposed church and garden, circa 1888, that is now the law offices of Brandeis alum Paul A. Casi II, PSC. Co-hosts for the event are Casi’s wife, UofL interior design alum Karen Casi, and Brandeis night school alums Ken Bohnert, Tim Corrigan, Roy Denny, Joe Dunman, Shannon Fauver, Maria A. Fernandez, Kelly Gannott, Liza Goykhberg, Ellen Hesen, Courtney Howell-Kidd, Mark Lloyd and Kathy Quesenberry.
Admission is free, and to RSVP for the event, go to the night school reunion website. For additional details, contact Jennifer Tuvlin, jennifer.tuvlin@louisville.edu.
