Third annual golf scramble sets new participant record

The third annual Brandeis Law School Golf Scramble saw a record number of participants this year, with 80 golfers vying for bragging rights. The tourney was held Aug. 14 at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville.

Organized by Gulam Zade, ’11, of Nashville, the scramble began in 2021 with 10 foursomes and has doubled in participation this year to 20 foursomes.

“When we started the scramble, our goal was to engage alumni with the law school who hadn’t found another way to stay active with us,” said Zade, who serves on the law school’s Dean’s Advisory Board and the university’s Alumni Council. “We’re excited to see the growth of the scramble and look forward to seeing even more participants next year for the 2024 scramble on Aug. 12.”

“We are so grateful for the support of our alumni who participated in the scramble,” Brandeis Law Dean Melanie Jacobs said. “I want to thank Gulam for organizing the event as well as our sponsors for their support. It was great to be out at the club after the tournament’s conclusion and help present prizes.”
