The passing of Mary Ann (Render) Garnar

We pay our respects to Mary Ann (Render) Garnar, 82, who died on Tuesday August 16, 2022. Mary Ann (class of '89) is remembered as an important member of our local legal community, her

Born in Detroit, Michigan, she moved to Beaver Dam, Kentucky where she spent most of her childhood.  A graduating of Western Kentucky University and the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, Mary Ann developed an interest in the law, leading her to pursue and complete a JD at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law.  With this in hand, she practiced in the Jefferson County Family Court.  Her connection with Brandeis School of law ran deep, as her late brother was Professor Edwin Render who taught at Brandeis School of Law from 1968 to 2013.
