“Reading gives us some place to go when we have to stay where we are.”
-Mason Codey
“There are no faster or firmer friendships than those formed between people who love the same books.”
-Irving Stone

Do you love books? Are you looking for people who share that passion and want to discuss literature?

Join the Honors LLC Book Club!

It’s a great opportunity to meet people with common interests, make new friends, and discover new books!

The first book of the semester will be pre-selected. From then on, students will have to chance to submit their suggestions and vote on the next book we read. Our goal is to meet monthly in order to give students enough time to read the next book in-between studying for classes.

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

After receiving a frantic letter from her newly-wed cousin begging for someone to save her from a mysterious doom, Noemí Taboada heads to High Place, a distant house in the Mexican countryside. She’s not sure what she will find—her cousin’s husband, a handsome Englishman, is a stranger, and Noemí knows little about the region. Noemí's only ally in this inhospitable abode is the family’s youngest son. Shy and gentle, he seems to want to help Noemí, but might also be hiding dark knowledge of his family’s past. For there are many secrets behind the walls of High Place. Noemí, mesmerized by the terrifying yet seductive world of High Place, may soon find it impossible to ever leave this enigmatic house behind.
