Matt Bergman, PhD, assistant professor and program director in the Department of Educational Leadership, Evaluation and Organizational Development, was the invited keynote speaker and panelist at the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) Access and Completion Convening, which was held in Provo, UT. The session was titled, "Creating a Better Deal for Adult Learners."
Tom Tretter, EdD, professor in the Department of Middle and Secondary Education and director of Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium, was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and Innovation (EVPRI) for his proposal, "Astronomy Modeling Efficacy." Dr. Tretter will study the modeling pedagogical approach and its impact on learning when used in teaching astronomy.
Kyle Ingle, PhD, assistant chair and associate professor, and Jason Immekus, PhD, associate professor, both in the Department of Educational Leadership, Evaluation and Organizational Development, published, "A Test and Cross-Validation of the Factor Structure of the Engagement Versus Disaffection with Learning Instrument Among Middle School Students," in the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment.

Murray High School hosted their annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in April, and Mike Miller, field training coordinator at the Kentucky Autism Training Center (KATC), was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was the coach of the Murray High Baseball Team, which was also inducted during the ceremony. In 1979, the team was State Runner-Up and scored 89 runs and only gave up 28 runs, finishing with a season record of 19-2. The induction ceremony honored former athletes, coaches, teams, and administrators and individuals who have contributed to the tradition and success of Murray High School Athletics.

De'Nay Speaks, graduate of the EdD program in Educational Leadership and Organizational Development, the EdS program in Educational Administration and Supervision and the MAT program in Early Elementary Education, was recently named principal of Cochran Elementary School.
