PROGRAM FEE: $2,500.00 (Estimate). Includes hotels, conference fees, in-country transportation, and all group entrance fees to historical/cultural venues. Please note that airfare and meals are not included in the program fee and that participants will be required to meet group leaders at the designated hotel in Dublin, Ireland on June 6, 2023.

CREDITS AND COURSES: All graduate scholars accepted into the program will be enrolled in LEAD 624 Global HR Development or if an undergraduate student, LEAD 596: Seminar. In addition to the coursework abroad, scholars will participate in asynchronous (online) class sessions in May and June and on-site sessions during the week of the conference.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:Leadership Competencies Across Cultures will develop students' global leadership competencies as they explore global human resource practices in Ireland:
While in the Ireland will:

  • Attend the UFHRD conference, "Workplace change – disruption, continuity and reinvention. The role of HRD in a changing Global Context" at the National College of Ireland's School of Business.
  • Develop and produce a Vlog Scholars will select a current HRM issue and research the perspectives of strategic HRM functions and cultural implications used in Ireland to address the issue. Scholars will draw a juxtaposition to those same of similar issues and approaches in the United States.
  • Visit companies in and around Ireland: Company visits will provide scholars with opportunities to identify, articulate, and analyze current and emerging cross-cultural trends, challenges, and ethical issues in leadership.
  • Visit: Various cultural and business locations in the area including EPIC - The Irish Emigration Museum, Book of Kells, Trinity & Old Library, GAA Museum, The Little Museum of Dublin, Chester Beatty Library, The National Gallery of Ireland, IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art

APPLICATION INFORMATION & ELIGIBILITY Applicants must be enrolled in ELEOD programs including Organizational Leadership and Learning (OLL) and Human Resource and Organization (HROD). Class size is limited to 20 students.
