Teressa Duffee Scholarship for Spanish Language Educators - Deadline – April 1st, 2024

Teressa Duffee Scholarship for Spanish Language Educators is designed for the advancement of a junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in Spanish language education. Teressa was a graduate of Pleasure Ridge Park High School and received two advanced degrees from the University of Louisville. Teressa taught Spanish at Holy Rosary Academy as well as in Estill, Madison, and Jefferson Counties for twenty-five years until her retirement. She was fluent in Spanish and shared her love for the language and culture with all her students.

The Teressa Duffee Scholarship for Spanish Language Educators offers one selected student $2500 awarded in the Fall semester, annually.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Junior or Senior admitted to the Professional Education Program or a graduate student in the Spanish Language Educator Program
  • Must be in Good Standing with the University
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

The Teressa Duffee Scholarship for Spanish Language Educators is open to all eligible students regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age.

Admitted to the Professional Phase of the Undergraduate Spanish Language Educator Program or a Graduate Spanish Language Educator Program:  


The scholarship will be selected by a committee and awarded on the basis of need and/or merit, in accordance of the policies of the University of Louisville in place each year. Academic standing and professional dispositions will also be considered.
