September 29th marked the 2500th anniversary of the Battle of Salamis, the decisive victory for the Greeks that stopped a seemingly inevitable royal Persian conquest of Europe. The American School of Classical Studies at Athens invited UofL Liberal Studies Prof. John Hale to deliver a lecture about the Battle of Salamis to an international audience. Current US Ambassador to Greece, Geoffrey Pyatt, introduced Prof. Hale for this live streaming lecture which was viewed around the world.
