Google Fiber taps UofL alums for design work
City leaders were thrilled to welcome Google Fiber to town this year. The company is developing a fiberoptics network to deliver ultrafast internet capability across the city, starting with three underserved neighborhoods. Two alums of Hite Art Institute’s graphic design program got to be part of the action.

Exemplary Advising Award recipient Eddie Bobbitt aims to help students ‘find their why’
Eddie Bobbitt is an Academic Advisor Senior in the College of Arts and Sciences. He has served our student for the past nine years in that role. The College of Arts and Sciences Advising department also recently won a ‘Best of Region’ award for academic advising at the Region 3 NACADA Conference.

Fulbright fulfillment: Persistence pays off for A&S Alumna
Jessica Williams,a graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences with degrees in Spanish, political science and Latin American and Latino studies, tried three times to earn a prestigious Fulbright scholarship.
