Early Arrival Program

The Early Arrival Program (EAP) is a transition program designed to support incoming students as they begin their journey at the University of Louisville. The program helps students build community, connect with campus resources, and gain confidence before the start of the academic year through workshops, networking opportunities, and engagement activities.

The Center for Belonging, Access and Engagement collaborates with campus partners across Housing & Residence Life, Student Affairs, academic units, and student support services to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to university life. Through these partnerships, EAP creates a welcoming and supportive environment that promotes student belonging, engagement, and success.

Program Goals

  • Foster a Sense of Belonging: Help students feel connected to the campus community before the semester begins.
  • Increase Knowledge of Campus Resources: Ensure students are aware of and know how to access academic, personal, and financial support services.
  • Build Peer and Mentor Networks: Connect participants with current students, faculty, and staff to establish a strong support system.
  • Ease the Transition to College: Reduce the anxiety and uncertainty of the first semester by providing tools, guidance, and early community integration.
  • Support Retention and Graduation: Lay the foundation for academic and social success, positively impacting long-term student persistence.
