Computer Support Plans

Information Technology offers hardware and software support plans for Windows-based departmental computers. These plans are offered with one year coverage and include the services listed below.

There is an hourly fee of $95 for repairs performed without a service plan.

Services Included

  • initial setup of the computer operating system
  • installation and configuration of standard software (such as anti-virus, wireless client, etc.)
  • ongoing troubleshooting and updates as required
  • problem diagnosis
  • warranty repair
  • labor for out-of-warranty repair (parts extra)

Gold Plan

The Gold Plan includes all of the above services and can be used with any departmental computer.

Cost: $365 per computer per year

Platinum Plan

The Platinum Plan includes all the above services and can be used with any computer financed through the workstation replacement program. This plan is discounted since all computers on the replacement program are purchased with on-site maintenance.

Cost: $295 per computer per year

Who can use these plans

Individual faculty, staff, or departments can use these plans. These plans are intended to help departments supplement their support staff by handling routine computer maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

How to Participate

The process of the program is straightforward: Complete the Desktop Request form or call 852-4318 to begin the process. An agreement will be e-mailed to you on which you will need to complete the account information, sign and return to Miller Information Technology Center (MITC) Room 109 Attn: Computer Support Plans. You may also fax the quote back to 852-7013 marked "Computer Support Plans".
