UofL has a centralized sponsorship program to ensure that the university is realizing the maximum opportunity from every sponsorship agreement. By streamlining all sponsorship engagement, the university will be more effective and strategic when embarking on future partnership agreements and executing current ones. Submit nominations for study abroad photo contest April 25
A&S Faculty and staff are encouraged to vote for the 9th Annual A&S Study Abroad Photo Contest, co-sponsored by Murphy's Camera. This is a great opportunity for A&S majors to showcase their travels and experiences. Submit your votes by April 25. You can view the submissions, and submit them here.

Prof. Beyin presents at AAA meeting
Prof. Amanuel Beyin (Anthropology) presented a paper, titled, "The Relevance of the Abdur and Asfet Middle Stone Age Sites for human dispersal research," at the Society for American Archaeology Annual Meeting in Orlando on April 7.

Liberal Studies alum Rae Hodge wins Fulbright to UK
Alumna Rae Hodge (‘13A, Liberal Studies) earned a prominent Fulbright Award to study journalism at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. The competitive placement is awarded to only 3 percent of U.S. Fulbright applicants. To read more, visit UofL News.

Two Russian Studies minors win Fulbright awards
English major and Russian Studies minor Hanna Demarcus won a Fulbright award to travel to Belarus. She's the second Russian Studies minor to get a Fulbright this year. The first was Political Science major Christina Baker, who will be traveling to Estonia.

Junior Conrad Smart wins Goldwater scholarship
Junior Conrad Smart (Physics & Mathematics) won a prestigious Goldwater scholarship, one of just 252 such awards given this year in the U.S. The scholarship goes to undergraduate students in the fields of mathematics, science or engineering and provides up to $7,500 for tuition, fees, books, room and board. Quiz Bowl team finishes ahead of Oxford, Harvard in championships
Congratulations to the UofL Quiz Bowl team for their 10th place finish at the ACF National Championships. UofL was part of a field of 44 teams that included United States, Canada, and British champions. Advancing to the championship round, the team defeated Oxford University (285-160) and Maryland (320-265) during a 12-team round robin. This was the highest ever finish for UofL at the ACF National Championships, and UofL had the highest finish among ACC schools at the tournament. In the final rankings, UofL finished two spots behind MIT and one spot ahead of Oxford in the final standings. The team also finished ahead of national powers Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Illinois, Virginia, Washington University St. Louis, Georgia Tech, McGill, Northwestern, and Penn. Team members competing this weekend were Kurtis Droge (MBA Graduate Student), Ramapriya Rangaraju (Computer Engineering and Computer Science graduate student), and Megan Seldon (English major).
