A group of officers from the Lebanese National Police spent two weeks in Louisville getting first hand views of SWAT team tactics, community policing and the cameras overseeing city streets. But their main goal was to take home new leadership and management skills from UofL's Southern Police Institute.

Cornelius Sanford ’18 earns Public Policy Fellowship
Pan-African Studies major Cornelius Sanford (‘18) earned a prestigious Junior Summer Institute (JSI) Fellowship with the 2017 Public Policy and International Affairs (PPIA) program. As a PPIA Junior Fellow, Cornelius will spend this summer studying foreign affairs and public policy at UC Berkeley (all expenses paid) with 30 other undergraduates from across the country. In addition, he was named a Law Fellow, which is only offered to 10 undergraduates each year. The Law Fellow program is designed to expose young scholars to the topics and skills necessary to gain entry to and succeed at a top law school.
