UofL Emergency Paid Sick Leave, Family and Medical Leave
Dear Faculty & Staff,
We know that many of you have families and have been impacted by childcare centers and schools closing. We also understand that you may have healthcare and/or government issued mandates that are keeping you from doing the essential functions of your job.
We are happy to announce that the University of Louisville is an eligible employer for two of the recently passed federal government emergency programs that will go into effect on Monday, March 23:
- Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act (EPSLA)
- Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act (FMLA Expansion)
We hope that by sharing this news with you now it will give many employees who are eligible some comfort going into the weekend and the opportunity to start making plans.
Please take time to thoroughly read the attached document that explains the details of these emergency programs and employee eligibility. Your supervisor will be equipped to start assisting you on Monday.
