Christopher Fulton, Professor and Chair of the Art History program, is a Renaissance scholar and a specialist in Mexican art. One of his areas of expertise is sculpture, and for the past two years he has been involved in planning for the conservation of the University’s Thinker by Rodin.
Rodin’s Thinker has become a symbol of the University of Louisville, but its unique historical significance is little known.
This lecture illuminates the origins of the piece and reviews issues concerning its physical condition as well as plans now afoot to restore this august monument.
