Arts and Sciences Centennial Fund

You can help celebrate this milestone by making a special centennial gift to the college -- and ensure the college’s continued success for the next 100 years.

Fundraising Priorities

Donations to the Centennial Fund will provide crucial support to A&S. The Centennial Fund includes four fund-raising priorities, which have a direct impact on our students and our community. These priorities are:

Life of the Mind Speaker Series

A&S gives students a world-class education—one that crosses academic and geographic boundaries and transcends the limitations of the traditional classroom. This series enriches the intellectual lives of our students, faculty and visitors through lectures, guest speakers, workshops and mini-conferences that span the breadth of the liberal arts and sciences.

Hope for the Future: Student Scholarships and Support

Scholarships have not kept pace with rising tuition and educational costs. “Hope for the Future” provides scholarships for deserving A&S students (particularly those entering
U of L without other scholarship support) and underwrites the cost of student research, study abroad and international internships.

The Citizen College: Community Partnerships and Diversity

A&S participates in numerous collaborations with local public schools, civic organizations and government agencies such as the Saturday Academy initiative, based in a local community of color. Private support will allow us to strengthen existing and create new programs that enrich our community.

Building Tomorrow: Facilities and Technology

A&S is U of L’s largest academic unit, occupying more than 20 buildings. Diminishing state support and rising education costs make it difficult to maintain these aging facilities and ensure state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. “Building Tomorrow” provides crucial funds to renovate our facilities. Naming opportunities are available.

You Can Help celebrate the college’s 100th anniversary by supporting the Centennial Fund. Your gift of $100 or more will make a real difference for current students and A&S’s impact on the local community.
