A Welcome for Prospective Students from the Dean

But the College is much more than just a place for career preparation. Education in the natural sciences, the social sciences, and the humanities is transformative. You will develop new ideas, gain new skills, and experience new ways of thinking about the world and about contributions that you can make. We will ask you to engage in active learning and research. The work will be challenging – sometimes downright difficult – and rewarding. As you experience our teaching, research and creative activity, and service programs, you will see why the College of Arts and Sciences is the largest, most diverse college at the University of Louisville.
In the end, the College of Arts and Sciences will help you understand the actual and imagine the possible. That’s how we can help you find your place in the world.
