What Is Assessment?
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness supports the University’s commitment to academic and operational quality through programmatic and student learning assessment processes and reviews. Assessment is the systematic and ongoing collection, review, and use of information about educational programs, academic support services, and administrative operations. The assessment results are utilized by the faculty, staff, and administrators for continuous quality improvement of student learning and development, programs and services (See Process of IE graphic below).

Specifically the university strives through its assessment activities to be in compliance with SACSCOC Core Requirement 2.5 and Comprehensive Standard 3.3.1 as defined by The Principles of Accreditation.
The university has created an Institutional Assessment Framework that supports all five critical themes stated in the university's mission statement.
