Dr. Killian Coyne attended West Virginia University School of Medicine after graduating summa cum laude from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering. For his senior capstone project during undergrad, he served as chief engineer on a team that developed a wearable motion capture system to detect gait asymmetries. Throughout medical school, Dr. Coyne co-authored multiple publications in conjunction with the WVU Department of Orthopedics and the Sports Medicine Research Laboratory. He also served as president of the orthopedic and ultrasound interest groups for medical students. Prior to joining the UofL Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program, he completed a preliminary medicine internship at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Coyne is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the North American Spine Society, the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience, and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia. His clinical interests include interventional pain management, sports medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasound, spasticity management, prosthetics, and orthotics. He enjoys volunteering with adaptive sports organizations and his local church, traveling abroad, spending time with family, and sampling the local food scene.
