Dr. Emily Payne Sieg joined UofL's Department of Neurological Surgery as an Associate Professor in the UofL School of Medicine and has since been named the Director of Neurotrauma and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs. Dr. Sieg's clinical interests are in Neurotrauma and Neurocritical Care, including traumatic cranial and spinal cord injuries.
Dr. Sieg received her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. She completed her residency in neurological surgery at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center as well as 1-year CAST accredited fellowships in Neurocritical Care and in Complex Spine Surgery.
Her research interests lie primarily in clinical and translational research in the field of neurotrauma and critical care. This includes spinal cord injury, brain trauma, and peripheral nerve injury. To view Dr. Sieg's CV, click here.
