Dr. Christa Nnoromele is an Assistant Professor with the UofL Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and an Attending Physician for inpatient, outpatient, and consults with UofL Health – Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Her main areas of focus are management of spinal cord injuries throughout the continuum of care: through the acute hospital admission, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient clinic. Her areas of interest include spinal cord injury medicine and management, women’s health in neurological disorders, and spasticity assessment and management.

Dr. Nnoromele received her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology from Rice University. She received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She then completed her residency at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Brigham/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital followed by her fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University/Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

During her training, Dr. Nnoromele participated in multiple programs including, the medical education track at the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab and a leadership course through the Harvard Business School as a Boston Future Leader Scholar. She was also chosen as the Administrative Chief Resident for her residency at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and she was awarded the Manuel J Lipson Award for significant contribution to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
