Dr. Brooke Madson, current PMR chief resident, graduated from A.T Still Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019 after graduating cum laude from Augustana University (AU) in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She went on to complete a transitional year residency at the University of North Dakota before joining the University of Louisville as a physical medicine and rehabilitation resident. As an undergraduate, Dr. Madson earned a Distinguished Scholar award, was a Trustee’s Chemistry Fellowship Recipient, and served as a board member of Augustana University’s Leadership Council. At ATSU, she served as a Medical Student Mentor. Dr. Madson is currently a member of UofL’s Resident Quality and Safety Leadership Council and of UofL House Staff council where she serves on the Hardship Grant Subcommittee. She was also selected to be involved in AbbVie’s Emerging Leaders in Spasticity pilot program and is in her second year of participation. During her time at UofL, an interest of Dr. Madson’s has been the implementation of a wellness curriculum into PMR didactics alongside a faculty mentor. 

Dr. Madson plans to work in both inpatient and outpatient physiatry settings in the future.
