The Interview
THE INTERVIEW COMPONENT
If selected to interview, scheduling arrangements will be made through our office. You will notified and provided dates and times to choose from. Your interview may be conducted in person or video conferencing. Video conferencing is encouraged for those who live out of town or a significant distance from Louisville to avoid travel time and expenses. Please note: Due to the pandemic, all interviews will be virtual using either Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
The interview is an important component of our selection process and should be taken seriously. You are not only being considered for our program but also as an assured admission candidate for our medical school. There are three interviews conducted.
- One will be a panel interview with the Program Advisory Committee which includes the Program Director and representatives from the U of L School of Medicine.
- The other two will be individual interviews with a medical school admissions committee member.
Interviews may all be conducted all in one day or may be scheduled on different days pending the interviewers/interviewee's availability. The interviews are approximately 30 minutes each.
The interview is basically a conversation which allows us to get to know you better as a potential student in our program and as a future medical student and physician. It is also an opportunity for you to learn more about our program.
This is a professional interview, so please dress and prepare accordingly.
